In it’s seventh year on the Downhill racing scene, Team Billy Goat Bikes/Leatt Protectives Racing is comprised of some of the best “rising stars” the east coast has to offer. Two veterans make a return appearance, Joshua Rogers the Pro and Mentor, and Zach Gareis, as a second year Junior Elite rider. New to the team, but not new the scene, Jack Major (Junior Elite). The crew will be constantly on the road competing throughout the United States, in Canada, and in Europe. Each of the seven Pro GRTs are on the docket, and that plan also includes up to five rounds of the World Cup. The team and riders success in 2016 both on the national and international scene enabled BGB to have a rider selected for the USA World Championship team for the fourth year in a row. Joshua raced in Val di sole, Italy as a junior elite for the second straight year. The team has great success developing riders for the professional ranks in downhill racing and looks to continue that role as a premiere east coast based team.
This year the team adds another element, Team Billy Goat Bikes/Seven Racing is comprised of some of the best “young guns” out there. Returning BGB rider, Nicholas Wildrick brings a year of the race, team and travel experience to help the two new team members. We move off the east east coast for the two new riders; Keegan Rowley from Channahon, Illinois made the move from BMX to downhill in 2016. The skills learned from BMX have translated to his skills on the bike used for downhill. Moving even further away from the east coast we pickup Seth Pritchard from Hooker, Oklahoma. Our least experience downhiller but that hasn’t stopped the fast progression to the bike. Seth is a crossover from motocross and is ready to dive in his new passion. Joshua Rogers will be mentoring this group of young guns throughout the season. Keep your eyes out for these GROMS at the Pro GRTs this year.
